What is Google Picker API?
Google Picker API enables an interface where users can access their G-Drive data.
Why is it needed?
G-Drive Connections created before December 2024 used a restricted API scope. These "Legacy Connections" will still function as intended. However, if Google approaches you about continuing to use this scope, It requires applications with specific API scopes deemed Sensitive or Restricted to undergo certification (CASA).
If getting certified isn't an option, then this is where enabling Google Picker API and its non-restricted scope comes in. Moving from a restricted to a non-restricted scope will negate the certification requirement.
How it affects the web portal
If the Picker API is enabled in your Google Developer account, after authenticating a Connection on our platform, a "Choose Folder" option will display to launch the Google Picker to specify a root folder for Form Connectors using that Connection, coupled with a folder path option to create folders within the root folder. Only the picker option is displayed on data source connectors.
